They're known as the horseshoe crabs but their scientific name goes by Limulus polyphemus.
The young live in the shallow where they are protected by the sandy bottom. As for the adults they live deeper into the water.
They lack jaw and they are invertebrates which means they are one of many organisms lacking a backbone.
